Code # DNA, learn biology with a video game

by admin

Very different places such as the Lazzaretto Nuovo in Venice, the Guattari Grotto in San Felice Circeo, Siberia, Seville and the Cathedral of San Fermo in Verona, as well as hosting famous burials such as that of a Neanderthal or the alleged tomb of Christopher Columbus, have become settings of the applied game Code#DNA, whose story is housed in Game to Human, a permanent platform that tells stories, new and from the past, wanted by IIDEA to promote greater knowledge of video games and their positive impact on society.

Code#DNA, developed by Idra Interactive Studios in collaboration with the VIGAMUS Foundation, is a production with an informative didactic intent. An interactive experience in classic serious games style aimed at understanding the research activities of the Center for the study of ancient DNA of the Department of Biology of the University of Rome Tor Vergata.

By placing the informative, didactic and promotional purpose of the courses before the purely playful one, Code#DNA wants to enhance the study of ancient DNA and the research conducted by the Center, bringing children closer to the University’s biology courses.

The experience proposed by the title is linear and is based on a series of self-contained levels. The work created in 3D with a third-person view has a realistic style that blends with dreamlike situations and settings. To further underline the pedagogical and popular purpose of the game is the original soundtrack, created by the Applied Music class of the Roman Conservatory Saint Louis College of Music.
