It’s a classic win-win situation: When I say something nice to someone, it almost always feels good for both of them. “A compliment acts like a gift,” explains psychologist Marina Gottwald. It activates the reward system in the brain and improves any type of relationship – whether it is friends, work colleagues, spouses, lovers or parents and children. Every form of relationship would become closer and more stable.
