Today, the Ministry of Health withdrew 8 batches of contaminated food supplement from ethylene oxide. These are 8 different types of the same Wellbeing brand, based in Urbino. The toxic substance was found in the bamboo shoots inside the capsules. All the details.

Contaminated food supplement, dangerous to health

The Ministry of Health has withdrawn several batches of dietary supplement as it is contaminated with ethylene oxide. This is 60 vegetarian capsules a Wellbeing brand, based in Urbino, with the following entries:

  • W-Omega, based on linseed oil;
  • W-Calo più, based on mate, green tea and Moringa;
  • W-Natural D3, with flax and vitamin D3 from lichens;
  • W-Probiotic with probiotics and prebiotic fibers with bamboo extract;
  • W-Immuno, based on Astragalus extract;
  • W-Be Strong with vitamin B, folic acid and biotin.

All references are due to the presence of ethylene oxide in bamboo shoots, the predominant ingredient in the capsules. These are 100% natural products rich in fiber, vitamins, mineral salts and aimed at very specific purposes, such as: strengthening the immune defenses, prolonging the release of daily energy, balancing the intestinal flora, etc.

Batches of contaminated dietary supplement

All batches of the withdrawn food supplement contain a 60 capsule pack of plant products such as: vitamins, fiber, mineral salts, bamboo shoots. Traces of ethylene oxide, a banned substance in Europe and highly harmful. Furthermore, the brand of the supplement is Wellbeing, based in Urbino, the company name of the OAS Giaca Srl, Blu Lotus factory and expiration date 02/2024. These are packs of 60 capsules each.
