Covid: 2.6 million vaccines stopped in the fridge, ‘no delays but stocks for recalls and new arrivals’

Rome, April 7 (beraking latest news Salute) – There is a fact that alarms in the rush of the vaccination campaign towards the goal of 500 thousand immunizations per day: 2.6 million doses still in the refrigerators of the Regions. To date, in fact, the doses administered are 11.5 million and those delivered 14.1 million: there is therefore a gap of about 2.6 million doses. However, from the structure of the Commissioner for the emergency they clarify that “there is no delay, but that difference is due to the stocks for the recalls, which many Regions keep for the reservations already established, and to the new doses arrived and to be used”.

For example, yesterday 1.5 million Pfizer doses arrived in Italy and are being delivered to the Regions: “It is clear that they still have to be loaded in the online counter, but they will be counted in the vaccines distributed”, points out the commissioner for the Covid-19 emergency. Thus, the figure of 2.6 million ‘still’ doses could also increase. But as the structure clarifies, “if we look at the percentage between distributed and administered doses, we are at 81.4%. A not bad figure and which indicates how almost all doses are done”.
