That the attack launched by Covid, at least until the arrival of the Omicron variants, coincided in most cases with the loss of smell and taste is well established. Less well known was the mechanism that determined all this. The answer is given by two Italian studies, linked to the Universities of Genoa and Milan. Studies that will be presented during the XV National Congress of AIMN (Italian Association of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging), scheduled in Rimini from 12 to 15 May.
