(ANSA) – BERLIN, OCTOBER 21 – Covid cases are increasing also in Germany, where however the health situation remains under control and the Minister of Health has said he is in favor of the end of the state of emergency from November 25, when the extended regime will expire in August.
According to the Robert Koch Institut, the weekly incidence of infections has risen to 85.6 per 100 thousand inhabitants in the last seven days. It was 80.4 yesterday and 67.1 a week ago. In the 24 hours there were 16,077 new infections, (there were 12,382 a week ago) and 67 deaths (less than seven days ago when 72 were recorded). The toll of infections also rises in Berlin, where the weekly index has exceeded 100 infections. In Germany, however, the relevant indicators are health care ones, on the number of places in intensive care: yesterday it was 2.34 hospitalizations per 100,000 inhabitants over seven days. The maximum reached dates back to the Christmas period when it reached 15.5. (HANDLE).
