This was claimed by the spokesman of the Foreign Ministry Zhao Lijian, after the recent interview with the New York Times released by virology Shi Zhengli, in which the “Bat Woman” at the head of the laboratory spoke of speculations against the Wuhan center and the absence of responsibility.
“The first discovery of the genome sequence of the new coronavirus by Chinese scientists does not mean that Wuhan is the source of the new coronavirus, nor can it be inferred that the virus was produced by Chinese scientists,” Zhao said. On the contrary, “the Wuhan team should receive the Nobel Prize in Medicine for research on the new coronavirus rather than being blamed.”
