Covid in Brazil, the scandal of doctors forced to prescribe ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine to unsuspecting patients

by admin

Used as guinea pigs to the sound of doses of hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin. Without them being aware of it and above all consenting. A coercion that if proven would foreshadow the attempted murder and the attack on public health. Yet another scandal of a management bordering on genocide, an accusation that more and more Brazilians are throwing at the president Jair Bolsonaro. The whole story emerged during a testimony before the parliamentary commission of inquiry into the chaotic management of Covid by the far-right government.

Relieved from their post in retaliation for their resistance, 12 doctors of the Elderly Prevention Service of the Ministry of Health turned to the lawyer Bruna Morato who represented them before the ICC. The lawyer was asked if it was true that in the last twelve months the Elderly Service had administered the famous kit-covid wanted by the Minister of Health to 542,471 patients, most of them hospitalized in Sao Paulo hospitals. It is a package containing a series of drugs including hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin: two products praised by Bolsonaro because they can protect people from Covid when in reality they only serve to treat arthrosis or when one is affected by malaria. One of the many fake news that the president of Brazil has served up to his citizens overwhelmed by the pandemic and lost in front of the reassuring utterances of the extreme right leader who trivialized the scope of the virus and invited everyone to swallow doses of chloroquine.

The push to spread the kit-covid came mainly from the Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, which opposed protective measures such as lockdowns and quarantines adopted by several governors. He feared the collapse of the economy and pushed, as his boss asked, to continue living as if the pandemic were only a passing event, a “gripezinha”, a slight influence.

Ivermectin against Covid: story of a failure

You know how it turned out. People believed in Bolsonaro, avoided wearing masks, continued to crowd together without respecting distances, got infected, got sick, many died: almost 600,000 people. The doctors of the Elderly Prevention Service were opposed to the administration of these two palliatives which were useless. Indeed, they were full of contraindications. But in the face of their resistance they were threatened and many turned away. The 12 doctors who remained did not feel like reporting what was happening to the health representatives of the governors. They knew that the “Prevent senior”, as it is called, had close ties with those who led the various structures in the country.

The increase in the number of victims, 12 per cent more in August than the previous year in São Paulo alone, has raised the alarm. 4,000 patients out of 18,000 hospitalized had died. The fact that they were elderly and with previous pathologies did not explain this massacre.

Abusive administration was investigated and discovered. The doctors were put under investigation, they tried to understand what had happened. With difficulty and a lot of caution, someone began to speak. Illegal practices, pressure coming from above, the presence of a “parallel government” of Health in the management of Covid. At the time the minister was Luiz Henrique Mandetta, also like his predecessor in favor of masks and spacings and also fired by Bolsonaro.

This “parallel” structure, now explains El Pais, responded directly to the president’s team and was made up of denier doctors, such as the toxicologist Antohony Wong, by the virologist Paolo Zanotto and the researcher Nise Yamaguchi. “It was aligned with the interests of the Ministry of Economy,” lawyer Morato told members of the Parliamentary Commission. “The pandemic was not supposed to damage the economy. The intention was to give people the illusion that they could walk the streets safely. And this illusion had a name: hydroxychloroquine.” The testimony shocked the commissioners. “What we are witnessing,” said the vice president of the CPI, Randolfe Rodrigues, “is the confirmation of a macabre scandal with sad signs of eugenics. A bitter page in Brazilian history”.
