Milan, 13 May (beraking latest news Salute) – First point: quickly isolate the possible infected and free the immune territories. How? By developing a campaign of mass swabs among the contacts of the positives, developing and distributing reliable rapid tests to be done wherever there are aggregations: trains, planes, schools and universities once a week; following the Madrid model which has among its actions even the count of the virus in the waste water to identify the most affected neighborhoods. Second: to establish systems of ‘network testing’ and verification of the recovered and vaccinated, a chapter that also has to do with the vaccination passport. These are the first two points of a strategy that contemplates a total of 10 actions to “restart avoiding new closures”. The dossier is proposed by Lettera150, the think tank to which over 300 academics from various disciplines adhere, including the virologist Andrea Crisanti who signs the document and is among the experts who elaborated its contents.
Ten voices to “secure the country against the epidemic. Because it is not enough to observe the distancing rules and vaccines, whose campaign is now taking off, are not enough to restart without new closures”, assure the promoters of the strategy in a note . The operational proposals range from large-scale molecular tests to preventive and home medicine, from the national production of vaccines to the sequencing of variants, to the publication of disaggregated data, from the tax deductibility of Ffp2 masks to the purification of indoor air, from transport to schools.
“The epidemic has exposed old and new inefficiencies”, says Giuseppe Valditara, jurist, coordinator of Lettera150. “The macroeconomic picture outlined in early March by Istat highlights how strong the impact of the pandemic has been in our country. To avoid new stops, a wide-ranging strategy is needed to secure the country”.

There is talk of reducing the risk related to transport, with a series of interventions that increase its availability; of individual and collective protection devices, such as the sanitization of environments; the safe reopening of schools and measures to make access to Dad ‘fair’; transparency on pandemic data; of a strategy to reduce mortality, which also includes the involvement of general practitioners, a plan for optimal patient management, the timely identification of unknown variants of the virus and the increase in intensive care.
And, again, the last 3 points touch on the theme of therapies and territorial medicine and the use of monoclonal antibodies in hospital or assisted home therapy; quarantines and Covid Hotels; a strategy to tackle the shortage of vaccines, and among the ways mentioned to achieve the objective is the compulsory license and the sub license. In this last chapter we read: “Italy must buy 60 million doses of vaccine between Pfizer and Moderna with delivery in the autumn effective against the variants that there will be (such as for the flu) to make a reminder to everyone and equip themselves to do a million doses a day “.
