Covid vaccination not contraindicated in pregnancy – Medicine

by admin

(ANSA) – ROME, AUGUST 05 – The anti-SarsCoV2 vaccination “is not contraindicated in pregnancy”. This is what we read in the circular of the Ministry of Health regarding ‘Certifications of exemption for anti-COVID vaccination’. “If after medical evaluation you opt to postpone vaccination, the pregnant woman can be issued a certificate of temporary exemption from vaccination”, the ministry specifies, underlining that “breastfeeding is not a contraindication to anti-SarsCoV2 vaccination”.

Meanwhile, in Spain, the Commission of Public Health, a technical body of the Ministry of Health, recommends vaccinating pregnant women against covid as soon as possible. The suggestion is to complete the cycle before six months of pregnancy are completed, as a possible covid infection could be more harmful in the latter part of the second trimester and in the third trimester of gestation, more prone to any complications for the fetus. In any case, “there are no contraindications for anti-covid vaccination in any trimester of pregnancy”. (HANDLE).
