Covid: WHO Europe, ‘vaccination coverage ranges from 1% to 44%, soon to ease measures’

Milan, March 18 (beraking latest news Health) – “While 27 countries are currently in partial or full lockdowns nationwide, 21 are gradually easing restrictive measures. Some do so on the assumption that the increased spread of Covid vaccination would immediately lead to a improvement of the epidemiological situation. It is too early to formulate such hypotheses. There are no doubts: vaccination by itself does not replace public health and social measures. With vaccination coverage in the region ranging from less than 1% to 44 % is too early “to see an impact of vaccines” on hospitalizations and deaths “for Covid-19. This was underlined by Hans Kluge, regional director of the World Health Organization for Europe, during the usual press point on Covid-19 in the area.

The horizon, however, gives hope: “The first data from Israel, Scotland and the United Kingdom, linked to the efficacy against serious diseases of Pfizer / BioNTech and AstraZeneca vaccines, is promising and shows that lives are saved”.
