Damage from medical errors, 90% of requests are not accepted

In Italy every year there are about 35 thousand claims for damages for a medical error. Of these, 9 out of 10 end in failure and nothing for the patient. More than half of all cases involve four medical sectors. In the head there is theorthopedics, with 17.9% of claims. To follow, theOncology with 13.4%, Gynecology and obstetrics with 12.6% e General surgery – which includes all operations on the abdomen, breast and thyroid – with 11.9%.
