For every famous person, perhaps especially for artists and writers, it is often spontaneous to try to catch real diseases. And if these characters lived centuries ago, it is relatively easy to elaborate hypotheses and diagnostic interpretations, which are then obviously impossible to prove. Dante Alighieri is no exception to this rule, to which they have been made at least two neurological diagnoses: epilepsy and narcolepsy.
