Some provinces such as Milan, in fact, obtained an excellent score thanks to the high concentration of companies belonging to well-digitized sectors, such as finance and insurance. But in cases, such as those of Trento and Bolzano, for example, the performance in terms of digital score is not linked to a high concentration in the territory of companies belonging to particularly virtuous sectors.
The research, in fact, highlights how companies based in Trentino Alto-Adige perform well in terms of digital maturity regardless of the sector in which they operate.
«From the research emerges an enormous space for digital improvement for all sectors – commented the author of the study, Valentina Tortolini, Head of Research at ByTek – The first companies that will be able to accelerate will have excellent benefits. There are three priorities to focus on.
The first is the governance of digital data, in fact we have found that too many companies do not yet use analytics tools or in any case the ones they use are too basic, when instead the ability to know the target customers in a profound way through the first-party data, those released directly by users on the websites of the companies themselves, it is now indispensable and within everyone’s reach. The second is the supervision of user searches on Google to know what and how customers are looking for, identify spaces left free by the competition and consequently communicate and do marketing effectively.
«The third is the user experience on a digital level because unfortunately, choices based on taste and not on data and performance are still preferred. From all three priority areas described above, it emerges that there can be no digital transformation without a prior transformation in the use of internal and external data by companies. In this sense, the acceleration of growth today is offered by solutions based on Artificial Intelligence, accessible in terms of cost even for the smallest companies, without the need to hire data scientists or weigh on IT teams that are already overburdened ».
