The doctor removes the wrong eye during the operation eiThe patient goes blind. A man had decided to undergo surgery because of a cancer that damaged his life in one eye, but the surgeon made a mistake and now the patient will be blinded for life.

The medical malpractice case comes from Slovakia and now the Ružinov hospital in Bratislava has decided to start an investigation. According to the local press, the 50-year-old man had sustained permanent injuries to one eye from cancer that caused him blindness. A necessary decision according to the doctors who took him to the operating room, but during the surgery the wrong eye was covered and the healthy one removed, making the patient totally blind.
“The hospital has provided the patient and his family with full cooperation to mitigate the consequences, both medical and psychological and social,” said Eva Kliská, spokeswoman for the University Hospital of Bratislava, “we are very sorry for what happened and we will do everything to be close to the patient’s family “.
