Doctors and dentists United and with shared paths for a rational reorganization of Italian medicine

by admin

Among the issues most felt in the health field in a post-pandemic perspective is that of basic medicine, currently operating under a free profession agreement.

Recently some voices have been raised that would like the transformation into a relationship of dependence of General Practitioners, a hypothesis not only not shared by trade associations but also by the research that the consulting company MERCER (see here)has recently carried out with the Coordination of the e lavoro Minister of Labor, Maurizio Sacconi.

Among the solutions that could contribute to an improved review of the role of family doctors, forms of association between several professionals have been hypothesized, with staff and technologies able to guarantee services availability of 12 hours a day and that are able to collaborate with future Community Homes provided for by the PNRR.

One way, that of aggregation between professionals, which could represent a route shared by other categories, in particular that of dentists who, with ANDI, has long promoted association between dentists as the main way towards an evolutionary process of the traditional paradigm of mono-professional study, in which the pact between patient and caregiver in a wide-ranging fiduciary relationship that is inspired by care but above all Prevention continues to be privileged. A choice that stands as a bulwark to the commercial drift that is represented by dentistry on the road, with all the risks present for the oral health of citizens.

“This research identifies keywords such as associations, aggregation, society between professionals (STP) , free choice of the dentist and the Attending Physician and Integrative Health, which are the elements of reference for a modern, functional and responsible health service model, which is finally able to correspond consistently to the health and prevention needs of the citizen – comments Carlo Ghirlanda, Moderna nazionale Andi – are the terms that ANDI has long supported and pursued, and that today are the common heritage of all our members.”

Returning to the hypothesis of transformation of family doctors into employees, the research conducted raised another important problem, namely the pension one. In fact, if such a transformation were to take place, there would be a serious risk for Fondazione Enpam, the Social Security Fund for doctors and dentists.

For this reason, Enpam sees favorably the model of reorganization of Territorial Health Services as hypothesized in the survey carried out. According to the president of the institution, Alberto Oliveti, “the health needs of citizens are satisfied by ensuring the possibility of choosing a doctor of their own trust and ensuring physical proximity, such as that of the studies present in every area of Italy, and not kilometers away from their home. It would be unthinkable if the family doctor became dependent, with all the rigidity that this relationship entails, instead of making him remain a parasubordinate freelancer”.
