From model to model
One of the newer models to hit the market is the Ninebot Segway MAX G30LE. It is the younger brother of the Max G30 version (by far the best scooter of the two-year period 2019/2020). And it offers very interesting features. Starting with the 10-inch tubeless tires. And then again: double braking system (mechanical and electronic), sturdy materials, a fairly wide and comfortable platform, a 350W motor (which does not fear climbs) and a super battery that offers a range of 40 km at eco speed. In short, an excellent scooter, with a maximum speed of 25 km / h. With a mole that can make a difference, however, if you are looking for an object that is comfortable to carry: it weighs 15 kg. In short, carrying it on your shoulder to climb stairs is not the best. The price list costs 699 euros (but online it is cheaper).
For those looking for the ultimate in lightness, the i-Bike Freedom model seems to be a good idea. It is probably the lightest scooter ever (weighing 7 kg). Ideal for those who alternate between scooter and walking. Very small wheels, essential footboard, small front shock absorber. It is not the best of security and stability. It has a 250W motor with a maximum speed that rarely reaches 20km / h. Autonomy that varies a lot according to the weight of the driver: from 8 to 12 km. It costs 200 euros.
But if Segway Ninebot MAX G30LE and i-Bike Freedom are a bit of the maximum and minimum on the market, it’s worth taking a look at the middle ground. We tested two models that combine comfort with performance: the Nilox Doc 8Five and the Segway Ninebot E22E.
The first is a scooter for everyone: 25 km of autonomy, 25 km / h of maximum speed, 8.5 “tubeless wheels, rear disc brake and fast charging (even if the charger for fast charging must be purchased separately. ), 350 W motor. It costs 369 euros in the customized NBA version (for basketball lovers), a little less for the classic one. Pay attention to the weight, however: with 14.5 kg it is not the best in certain circumstances.
The Ninebot E22E, on the other hand, is fitted with 9 ”wheels equipped with Flat-Free double-density internal foam (good performance and without the risk of punctures or additional maintenance). The brushless DC motor integrated in the front wheel is 300 W, for a maximum speed of 25 km / h. It weighs 13.5 kg and costs 379 euros.
