Elon Musk overtakes Bezos and throws 4 people into Space. Alone and for 3 days

by admin

For space tourism the new key appointment is set for tonight, the night between 15 and 16 September, between one and two Italians: at that moment, with the Inspiration4 mission of SpaceX, a company of Elon Musk, 4 Americans will be launched alone into orbit with a Falcon 9 missile.

They will leave from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, Florida: the crew will travel for 3 days around the Earth at an altitude higher than that of the International Space Station and will be placed in the Dragon capsule, 8 meters high and 4 meters wide, which is located on top of the rocket.

In detail, the take-off is scheduled for Wednesday 15 September at 2.02 Italian on Thursday 16, with a 5-hour launch window: the first stage will separate from the spacecraft at an altitude of about 80 kilometers and automatically return to Earth for future use, while the second is expected to detach a few minutes after take-off.

At the head of the mission is the US billionaire Jared Isaacman, 38 anni, founder and CEO of the digital payment platform Shift4Payment, which financed the expedition (the price of the ticket was not disclosed) and invited the other 3 members of the team. It is about Hayley Arceneaux, 29 anni, nurse and pediatric cancer survivor; Chris Sembroski, 42 years old, a veteran of the US Air Force who now works in the aviation industry; And Sian Proctor, 51-year-old professor of geology, who over 10 years ago was a finalist to become a NASA astronaut.

Virgin Galactic, shadows on Branson’s space travel. Hypothesis of an accident in flight for the spacecraft

The event marks an important milestone for space tourism, after the flights last July already made by billionaires Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos, who nevertheless traveled with professional astronauts aboard, the same ones that are missing in SpaceX’s Inspiration4 mission. Making it somehow unique.
