The one signed today between the councilor for health of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Raffaele Donini, and the trade union organization of general practitioners Fimmg to create the Medical Assistance Centers for Emergencies (Cau) is “an historic agreement” which will allow “to give a perspective to the problem of overcrowding in emergency departments”. This was stated by councilor Donini, who this morning signed the agreement with Daniele Morini, general secretary of the trade union organization of general practitioners Fimmg Emilia-Romagna.
«70% of access to emergency rooms is represented by white codes and green codes – explains Donini – which certainly require services that are not time-dependent and life-threatening» and it is necessary to «put family doctors and former take charge of citizens even in urgent conditions”, if not serious. “We have thought of an emergency reform that is made possible also thanks to this agreement,” Donini explained.
With the creation of the Caus “we will separate the emergency from all those services, white codes and green codes, which certainly do not need a resuscitator but still need a doctor who can give answers in the right place, in the right setting and with the adequate technologies and above all with rapid times».
«The Caus will be activated near the largest emergency departments – explains Donini -, the first and second level DEA, especially in community homes, in local hospitals that already carry out that type of task today, but also in medical studies general who already today, perhaps associated with each other, intend to implement certain experiments».
