MILANO – Marcello Cattani is the new President of Farmindustria for the two-year period 2022-2024. This was decided by the Assembly meeting today in Rome. Cattani, elected unanimously, succeeds to Massimo Scaccabarozzi, at the helm of the association from 2011 to 2022. Cattani has been President and CEO of Sanofi Italy and Malta since 2020. Born in Milan 50 years ago, he is married, has two children and lives in Parma. He has a degree in Biological Sciences with a biomolecular focus with a specialization in Food Chemistry and Technology at the University of Parma. In over 20 years he has held roles of increasing responsibility at national and international level, accrued in several leading global biopharmaceutical companies.
Before becoming President of Farmindustria Cattani was delegate for industrial relations and he also coordinated the association groups on prevention, rare diseases, work and sustainability. He is also a member of the General Council of Confindustria. The new President will present his program tomorrow during the Public Assembly of Farmindustria “Being competitive in Europe. Pharmaceutical scenarios”, which will take place in Rome from 11 at the Auditorium della Conciliazione. The associative Assembly has also elected the Presidential Committee composed of five Vice-Presidents: Lucia Aleotti (A. Menarini), Alberto Chiesi (Chiesi Farmaceutici), Luciano Grottola (Ecupharma), Nicoletta Luppi (MSD Italy) Lorenzo Wittum (Astrazeneca).
The Presidential Committee also includes Emma Charles (BMS), Valentino Confalone (Novartis), Maurizio de Cicco (Roche), Francesco De Santis (Italfarmaco), Massimo Di Martino (Abiogen Pharma), Pierluigi Petrone (Euromed)
