This is how Alberto Calcagno, Fastweb CEO, inaugurates the press conference for the presentation of NeXXt, the new router that, together with the Booster repeaters, creates a mesh network with the support of up to 128 devices and makes the home even more connected.
Compatible with all access technologies, NeXXt allows you to benefit at most of all the power and quality of Fastweb’s FTTH fiber optic network, offering speeds of up to 2,5 Gbps in download e 300 Mb/s in upload. Equipped with the latest generation Wi-Fi 6 technology, NeXXt can also be supported by Fastweb Boosters, powerful Wi-Fi signal repeaters with integrated smart speaker, which guarantee stability and continuity of the connection and interaction with Alexa from every corner of the house. .
NeXXt is not just a router or a home network management system, but the integration with Alexa Voice Services (Alexa voice services, the Amazon platform based on the voice assistant) allows the user to configure a series of automation and usage-based optimizations. These modes are managed through the MyFastweb app, and there are some already set up for simplification, such as the Smart Working to enhance the computer connection, or mode School to enhance tablets and computers of the little ones, or even the mode Cinema to convey the maximum bandwidth available, for example, to the TV in the living room, to make the most of 4K or 8K content.
These configurations are not only used to optimize network flows, but can also integrate with the home automation system: the cinema mode, for example, can also turn off the lights, put the devices in Do not disturb and lock the doors. And they can be activated by voice or with the MyFastweb app. For more advanced users, the router also features a control panel for more extensive customization of devices and bandwidth needs.
NeXXt will be included free of charge in all Fastweb offers for new customers starting from Monday 17 May and subsequently the new internet box will also be available for existing Fastweb customers who will be able to request it directly in the MyFastweb customer area and from the MyFastweb app, at a cost of 49 euros.
