Father rides a bicycle 300 kilometers to get medicine for his son

by admin

A father living in a city in the Indian state of Karnataka cycled 300 kilometers to get urgent medication for his son who has mental health problems, local media reported.

The minor has been under treatment for a decade in a mental health institution in the city of Bangalore. However, last month due to the restrictions due to Covid-19, he was unable to come to his regular check-up which usually takes place every two months and therefore did not receive the drugs to continue the treatment. In the opinion of the doctors, however, the chances of a seizure were high if the drugs were stopped before the age of 18. Since the lockdown prevented the young man’s family from taking him to Bangalore by motorbike or car, the father decided to use his bicycle and it took him a day and a half to get there. Fortunately, the man succeeded and even received some money from doctors after they learned of his difficult economic situation.
