Shippypro, D-Orbit, Contents.com e Exein are the four new startups entered today in the Italian Tech Startup Database launched last September 23 (who the explanation of the motivations and objectives). Here’s who they are and what they do.
Shippypro is a startup that has developed software to simplify the management of shipments for e-commerce. It raised $ 5 million (€ 4.5 million) in a Series A investment round led by American fund Five Elms Capital. The company was founded in 2016 by Francesco Borghi (currently CEO) and Lorenzo Rogai (CTO). ShippyPro has brands such as Calzedonia, Diesel and Guess among its customers.
D-Orbit is a startup founded in 2011 by Luca Rossettini and Renato Panesi. Based in Como, the company provides products and services for the space sector (it covers the entire cycle of a mission, from design to development of the satellite platform): logistics and space transport above all. The goal is to become the first orbital transport company in the world. In 2020 it obtained a 15 million euro loan from the European Investment Bank and a few months earlier it closed a 10 million euro round with Neva Finventures, an investment vehicle of Intesa Sanpaolo (managed by Neva SGR), and with the Australian VC 808 Ventures.
Contents.com is a startup that produces content based on business data and trends using Artificial Intelligence algorithms. It raised $ 6 million in a round conducted by Synergo, Gellify and Azimut Digitech Fund. Fabio Cannavale and Alberto Chalon also participated in the round.
Exein is a startup that has developed an open source platform for the security of IoT devices. In 2021 it closed a 6 million euro Series A investment round led by the German funds Future Industry Ventures (Redstone) and eCAPITAL and participated by the current investor United Ventures. The startup was founded in Rome in 2018 by Gianni Cuozzo with the aim of building the largest cybersecurity ecosystem in the world.
