When Capcom revealed in March that Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 7: Resident Evil would upgrade to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X, they didn’t say when that would happen. But a few hours ago, at midnight, Capcom decided to drop the bomb.
Updates for all three games are out now, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X, and make things even better…it’s free (as it should be). That means if you own the originals, you can enjoy 4K graphics, better frame rates, ray tracing, and more for no extra cost.
If you play for the PlayStation, you only need to download the update, although it won’t work if you get the game through PlayStation Plus. For the Xbox Series S/X, it’s even easier because it supports Smart Delivery, which means the platform you need will automatically choose the best version for you.
