German Bundestag – Setting up the healthcare system in the event of disasters

Berlin: (hib/PK) In a small question (20/11052), the Union parliamentary group asks about the federal government’s plans to set up the healthcare system in the event of disasters and military conflicts. The Federal Minister of Health has identified a gap in the law and stated that the healthcare system must be better prepared for major disasters and military conflicts. A bill on this should be presented in the summer. However, it is not clear to what extent this represents the view of the entire federal government, the query states.

The MPs want to find out more from the federal government about the preliminary planning and inquire in which areas the greatest need for action is seen.
