Google I / O 2021, the developer conference will be online

by admin

Google has confirmed the dates of the I / 0 2021 conference, an event dedicated to its developers. After the cancellation of the 2020 edition in full pandemic, the American giant does not give up the appointment for the community of creators, which will be held online only on 18, 19 and 20 May. The official news comes from Google CEO Sundar Pichai, who posted the dates directly on Twitter.

Users will be able to register for free on the official I / O 2021 website and from here book the various workshops and sessions to participate in. The entire event will be broadcast live and the contents made available later. As per tradition, Google will hold an opening keynote with a global interest. Just during the keynotes of the past few years, the new generations of Chromebook laptops and the Duplex functionality of the Google Assistant, the artificial intelligence that could book the hairdresser or restaurant seats, had been unveiled. For May, news are expected on the development front of Android 12, already widespread in various Developer Preview, and announcements of new hardware devices, including the Pixel 5a smartphone and a renewed version of the Pixel Buds A earphones.

Major technology conferences of 2020 have been canceled or held in digital only form. For 2021, the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona remains standing, from June 28 to July 1. However, the main big names in the sector, such as Google itself but also Ericsson, Sony and Nokia have already excluded their presence in the pavilions of the Catalan fair.
