Google has held the opening speech at its annual I/O developer conference, which is mainly to help developers get the most out of Google’s tools and platforms, but this time it announced hardware and software announcements that will be released in the coming year.
On the hardware side, Google will launch its first wearable watch, the Pixel Watch, the mid-range Pixel 6a, and a new wireless headset. The software is a major update to the Android 13 system and Wear OS and Android TV.
Let’s first introduce Google’s first wearable watch, the Pixel Watch. At present, the relevant design, specifications, and US Patent and Trademark Office documents have been exposed. It is learned that the Pixel Watch is a round dial similar to a cobblestone, equipped with a flexible silicone strap.
In terms of performance, the Pixel Watch will have a model that supports cellular network connections and has a built-in 300mAh capacity battery. Currently, three models of “GWT9R”, “GBZ4S” and “GQF4C” have passed the Bluetooth SIG certification, and the specific differences are currently unknown.
For Google’s new mid-range mobile phone Pixel 6a, combined with the current revelations, it is known that the Pixel 6a uses the same Tensor processor as the Pixel 6, the rear main lens is 12 million pixels, and does not support the Google Camera function.
It is reported that Google will launch Pro wireless headphones with active noise reduction, called Pixel Buds Pro. At present, there are few reports on the appearance and performance specifications of the headset, and only the use of “Pro” in the name guesses that the headset supports active noise reduction.
There is also a new Nest Hub smart display, the biggest design highlight is the detachable screen design, the detachable screen can be used as a tablet.
In terms of software, Android 13, as the next major version of Google’s mobile operating system, has now released a beta version, which will be further introduced at the subsequent I/O conference, allowing developers to have a more comprehensive understanding.
In addition to the protagonist Android 13, there will also be an improved version of the operating system for tablets and foldable devices, Android 12L, which will be released sometime this year on Samsung, Microsoft and other devices.
In addition to that, Wear OS, Android TV, Google TV and app services for smartwatches will be updated. Among them, the Pixel Watch has been announced to bring a new work a year after the merger of Samsung’s Tizen platform.
Google Workspace is expected to feature prominently at this year’s Google I/O developer conference, as the feature brings a whole new way of operating Google Docs and will be the beginning of an overhaul of its plans to overhaul its telecommuting office software.
