At present, the monthly active usage of Android TV exceeds 110 million units, and the cumulative number of available apps exceeds 10,000.

In addition to announcing the Android Auto update, Google also stated during this Google I/O 2022 that the number of Android TVs in active monthly usage has exceeded 110 million units, and the number of apps used for Android TV has exceeded 10,000.

This data includes the previously launched Google TV products. Compared with the same period last year, the monthly active usage was 80 million units, which is a significant increase. At the same time, there are currently more than 300 partners who use Android TV to produce TV-related products. Among the top 10 TV brands sold, 7 use Android TV to produce TV products.

During this Google I/O 2022, Google will make some Android 13 application functions corresponding to Android TV, including sound playback management, playback media control items, and corresponding different input functions, and even allow developers to use picture-in-picture (Picture in Picture) playback mode, for example, for group video calls, or for other content playback functions.

In addition, Google will further strengthen the link between the Google TV app and Android TV devices, for example, allowing users to rent, purchase movies or TV series in the Google TV app, and directly cast them to Android TV devices to watch through Chromecast.
