Epic has acquired Harmonix, a music game developer, to include the company in Epic Games’ territory. It hopes to further expand the way it provides a unique experience in Fortnite.
In a blog post published by Harmonix, it is mentioned that this transaction does not affect Harmonix’s continued support for “Rock Paradise” and “Fuser” with more activities and tracks, as well as other old games under the company. The article also mentioned that for those who believe that changes are coming, there is still no “current plan” to produce more “Rock Band” instruments.
So what does this acquisition mean for Harmonix? The developer pointed out that they will cooperate with Epic, “We will bring a unique music game experience brand into the meta universe, while also challenging people’s expectations”, while also “bringing a musical journey and more to “Fortress Night” Gameplay.”
As for what these experiences are, Harmonix only said that they are “excited to start all of this” because they currently do not plan to share any further details.
