CHIAMPO (VICENZA) – He falls from a height of ten meters into the climbing wall and faints: a 72-year-old from Vicenza is serious. The accident happened today, March 23, around 9.30, in the climbing wall in Contrada Zonati. The mountain rescue of Recoaro – Valdagno was therefore alerted because a climber fell from the top of the climbing wall which corresponds to a height of ten meters.
The man, LDS, 72, from Chiampo (Vicenza), who was initially unconscious, was immediately reached by the medical staff of the Arzignano ambulance and by four rescuers, who stabilized him: the man has a head injury and trauma to the face. The medical team and the helicopter rescue technician of the Verona emergency helicopter were then landed on the spot. Embarrassed, the injured man was raised with a hoist a few meters up to a ledge, from where he was recovered with the winch and transported to the hospital in Vicenza.
