Misterbianco (Catania) – Humanitas Istituto Clinico Catanese continues its pink commitment on the occasion of the (H) Open Week Bollini Rosa promoted by the National Observatory on Women’s Health (ONDA), through two days of free services dedicated to the health of women with the aim of promoting information, prevention services and the treatment of the main female pathologies. On the occasion of the National Women’s Health Day, which occurs on 22 April each year, the Institute opens the doors of its clinics on 23 and 24 April also for 2021.
Throughout Italy from 19 to 25 April, 180 of the over 335 facilities that are part of the Bollini Rosa network joined the initiative: “Prevention – comments Francesca Merzagora, President of the ONDA Foundation – is a central theme: but according to the third Report of Salutequità, the renunciation of care for non-covid-19 patients is on the rise and women are especially renouncing, physically, psychically, professionally and socially affected by the pandemic. It is good to know that hospitals are safe places and life must be safeguarded in every possible way, starting to take care of ourselves again. with the (H) Open Week it is not only an appointment that is renewed as a healthy tradition, but it is at the same time one of the many ways to reaffirm our commitment to women “.
In the clinics of Contrada Cubba, SP54 n.11 in Misterbianco (Catania), women, upon reservation, will be able to undergo a free specialist gynecological examination and PAP Test with doctors Giuseppina Trombetta, Federica Grasso and Claudia Randazzo (aged between 30 and 60 years old), breast examination with the specialists dr. Gaetano Cunsolo, Dr. Irene Cannata and Dr. Debora Fichera (aged between 25 and 40 years) and any diagnostic service, at the request of the surgeon, entrusted to Dr. sse Alessandra Chiarenza and Giuliana Costanzo; thyroid visit with Dr. Maria Gloria Marino (for women of all ages) and, if necessary, the dt. Salvatrice Contarino will perform the ultrasound of the affected district; finally, a nutritional visit, intended for women aged between 30 and 55, with Dr. Serena Cubisino and the ophthalmologist (no age limit) by Dr. Francesca Ricotta. For a better evaluation of the clinical picture by the professional it is advisable to show any previous clinical / diagnostic tests.
Thanks to the collaboration with the Ultreya voluntary association of Pedara, on Friday 23 April Dr. Debora Fichera will report on the Zoom platform about the importance of self-examination, the first screening step, involving the volunteers of the Misericordie of the province of Catania.
