The nodes of health care, especially in the Nuorese area, come from afar. This was explained by the President of the Region, Christian Solinas, speaking on the recent protests in the Regional Council but also in the square, right in the capital of Barbagia.
“The lack of coverage of the turn over of doctors over so many years – he said – has now generated the need to have a number of them enter the system that is not present”. The Region, however, has not remained inert. “We have activated all the necessary competitions – he recalled – for hospital doctors, for pediatricians of free choice, for general practitioners, now we are waiting for these competitions to be completed to finally give an answer to all those territories”.
In particular, the president referred to those banned for 1700 units of medical health personnel and to the needs plan by thousands of doctors for the next three years. Unfortunately, he reiterated, “in a few years, moreover characterized by the pandemic, it is not possible to fill a gap formed in ten to fifteen years of failure to cover the turnover”.
Meanwhile, he announced, the Healthcare reform approved last year, “will start at the latest on January 1, 2022 and will be an important first pillar to restore the presence of health services to the territories”. The president recalled the three pillars of the overall reform: “That of governance that brings companies to the territory with the sole commitment of taking charge of the patient; this will be followed by the reform of territorial medicine, because if the to have filters, and to treat chronicity avoiding inappropriate hospitalizations, there will never be a balance between hospital and territorial system; the third part, finally, will be the reform of the hospital network, with the distribution of beds on the various specialties in a way more effective and efficient than the inherited one “.
