Microsoft Italia has inaugurated its new “eHealth Experience” in Milan. This is a path inserted within the Microsoft Technology Center, which our local division will dedicate to innovations in the healthcare sector, with an eye to technologies applied to the sector. The collaboration between Microsoft and its partners, such as the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, has already made it possible, with the support of Nvidia, Orobix and Porini, to develop AI-SCoRE, an autonomous learning platform, capable of calculating the risk deriving from ‘Covid-19 infection.
The health system is a strategic sector at the center of the priorities of the PNRR, which reserves 15.63 billion euros to achieve the health of the future. According to a recent Polimi research, if 60% of Italian healthcare professionals are equipped with sufficient basic digital skills (Digital Literacy), only 4% have a satisfactory level of higher skills, the so-called eHealth Competences. Microsoft eHealth Experience aims to be a place to meet but also to discover what technology today allows to do for the health of citizens, with a view to sharing experiences. In the dedicated space it will be possible to follow what is happening, from taking charge of a patient to the implementation of customized solutions, developed by Microsoft and its partners. For example, genomic analysis and artificial intelligence for studying the progress of a disease, communication tools to promote screening, triage management through Healthcare Bot, a totem that answers the first questions and assigns tickets to users. But also diagnostics based on intelligent data reading, apps for remote assistance and interfaces for coordinating care and smart scheduling of appointments.
