The High Intensity Narrow Spectrum (HINS) light will allow the Woofer and Rollip lamps to reduce up to 70-80% of the bacterial load of the surfaces they illuminate, preventing the onset of infections.
With the use of a wavelength of light at 405 nm, the Environment Care Lighting technology is able to illuminate and decontaminate the environments, avoiding the use of more expensive ultraviolet technologies that do not allow the permanence in the environments during the irradiation and can cause deterioration of photosensitive materials. The action of two light sources, one LED with a purple-blue dominant, combined with a white powerLED, allows to illuminate and, at the same time, protect man and his health. Linea Light Group will be the first company in Europe to use the HINS light patent in combination with lighting fixtures that can be used in offices, public places, hospitals and healthcare facilities, residential areas and multifunctional environments. The technology is harmless to people, so it can be used continuously in different spaces, thus improving disinfection and preventing the spread of infection.
The HINS light was developed in the Robertson Trust Laboratory for Electronic Sterilization Technologies (ROLEST) at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, thanks to the insights of a team of experts led by Professor Scott MacGregor, Vice Principal of the University.
