Honor aims for the top 3 smartphones in Europe with the new Magic 4 series

BARCELONA_ Honor aims straight at the top of the European smartphone market, with two new Android models launched at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona: HONOR Magic4 and HONOR Magic4 Pro.

The new series represents the official passage to the new life of what was Huawei’s mid-range brand until November 2020 and which following the American ban, the main consequence of which was the inability to use Google services, was sold wholly to Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology, a publicly owned consortium.

The ambitions of Honor’s new life are broader and we understand from the arrival of the new top-of-the-range products, with Android 12, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 5G processor, and a great emphasis on three cameras, video and technologies. In the morning presentation, CEO George Zaho repeatedly underlined the performances, especially photographic ones, making direct comparisons with the latest iPhones.

Speaking of the new strategy, Roger Liyun, country manager of Honor in Italy, explained to Il Sole 24 Ore: «We want to be present in all price segments, from mid-range to premium. Our goal in Italy now is to restart after the stop imposed by the ban first and then by the pandemic ».

The brand, in the previous life under the umbrella of Huawei, had reached 10% in our country, now what is the goal? “We aim to enter the top 3, in Italy and in Europe – replies Liyun – but not already this year”. This means competing with the other Chinese brands that aim for the top of Apple and Samsung, namely Oppo, Xiaomi and Vivo.
