How many are really vaccinated in intensive care?

by admin

With an increasingly extensive vaccination campaign and the debate on the real need for a mandatory green pass, the debate between those who are in favor of the vaccine and those who are totally against it is ignited and inflamed: no-vax.

The point of the question for the most reticent is the real one efficacy of vaccines anti-Covid against the virus: it is doubted in particular that the vaccine, whether single or double dose, can really provide protection against infections.

I data on infections – and on hospitalizations – often detect the presence of vaccinated people among the infected and this raises many questions. To find a definitive and real answer, just look at the latest report of theHigher Institute of Health. In fact, the ISS shared the new data relating to infections and the numbers describe a well-defined reality.

ISS data: how many are vaccinated in intensive care

By sharing its data, the Istituto Superiore di Sanità ensured that the Italian situation could be as readable as possible. The ISS periodically provides its numbers in order to better see the general picture of the pandemic, which are the most affected groups and whether vaccines help or not.

For the transition from the white area to the yellow area, it is now well known, a region must exceed 10% of the beds occupied in intensive care and each time the answer is always the same: the vaccination campaign must be carried out to prevent contagion and hospitalizations. .

The ISS data, as reported in the table below, they show us how essential it is to be vaccinated to avoid complications that require hospitalization in the event of contagion.

For ICU admissions, the ISS used data from 9 July to 8 August as a reference.

AGE RANGE NOT VACCINATED VACCINATED WITH INCOMPLETE CYCLE VACCINATED WITH FULL CYCLE
12-39 49 (96,1%) 2 (3,9%) 0 (0%)
40-59 121 (89%) 8 (5,9%) 7 (5,1%)
60-79 140 (74,9%) 11 (5,9%) 36 (19,3%)
80+ 24 (55,8%) 1 (2,3%) 18 (41,9%)

As you can see, in this case they are the not vaccinated to risk contracting the infection in a more serious form. In fact, for the Under 40s only those who had not completed the vaccination cycle (ie 2 people) and those who had not carried out the vaccine (49 people) ended up in intensive care.

The speech is even more evident if we look at the older age groups: almost 75% of those over 70 who ended up in intensive care were not vaccinated. As you go up with age, you need to take into account the possible health problems that aggravate the Covid-19 infection. In the case of those over 80, more than 50% – or 24 people – of those who ended up in intensive care were not vaccinated.

ISS data: vaccines reduce the risk of mortality

The numbers of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità are very clear: vaccines greatly reduce the risk of death for all categories, even the most fragile ones.

For this we report in table the absolute values, with the relative percentages, shared in the latest ISS report. The collected data cover a period of 30 days.

For i deaths from 25 June to 25 July:

AGE RANGE NOT VACCINATED VACCINATED WITH INCOMPLETE CYCLE VACCINATED WITH FULL CYCLE
12-39 4 (100%) 0 (0%) 0 (0%)
40-59 28 (80%) 5 (14,3%) 2 (5,7%)
60-79 80 (84,2%) 9 (9,5%) 6 (6,3%)
80+ 65 (59,1%) 5 (4,5%) 40 (36,4%)

It is in fact possible to note how the risk of death is significantly reduced up to the total absence of deaths for the group Under 40. If you look at the age group between 40 and 59 only 2 (5.7%) deceased people were vaccinated with the full course.

The effect is even more evident for the 60 to 80 age group. In fact, only 6.3%, or 6 elderly people, died despite having completed the vaccination cycle, compared to 93.7% of the elderly who had not completed the administration or who in any case had not even started it. Even in the over 80s, of which 90% are vaccinated, it is the unvaccinated who suffer the worst effects of the Covid-19 infection.

This suggests that the vaccine is in effect a valid weapon to counter the infection and spread of the Corona virus.

ISS data: who gets sick the most

The new data indicate that the virus is spreading among those who are not vaccinated: the target of the infected has therefore changed. In fact, the most infected are the youngest who still do not have a high vaccination coverage.

To encourage vaccinations, the ISS has estimated that vaccines reduce the ability to get infected by more than 80% and the chance of dying from the infection by more than 97%.
