How the Maneskin Instagram profile works

by admin

The most viral Italian post on Instagram on Sunday 23 May was that of Maneskin: their photo after the victory at the Eurovision Song Contest he totaled in a few hours over 1.164 million likes (Buzzoole data).

It couldn’t be otherwise, judging by the support the band has received on social media in recent days: on the final evening, over 400,000 tweets prompted them and Chiara Ferragni, queen of Instagram, explicitly asked her 23 million followers to vote for them and support them.

But that joy that invaded the Net soon clashed with the bitterness for the accusation to singer Damiano for snorting live cocaine from Paris Match due to a video released on Twitter. At the press conference, the singer Damiano was quick to deny: “It’s not true, please don’t say it.” Then the message was also reiterated on their social profiles: “We are shocked by what some are saying about Damiano who would use drugs. We are against drugs and have never used cocaine. We are ready to be tested because we have nothing to hide “.

The profile wants to flaunt authenticity, but it is appropriately edited by the record company: the shots of theirs performances and gods backstage they are alternated with the very glossy ones, typical of fashion magazines; not surprisingly, among the most mentioned brands there are big brands, such as Yves Saint Laurent and Etro, which dressed them at Eurovision.

The gesture of the middle finger often appears in photos, flaunted as a symbol, to emphasize the desire to be perceived “against the system”. And qhen, in October 2020, Instagram’s automatic system blocked the photo of the backstage of the single Twenty years, shot by Oliviero Toscani, the band proudly publishes the screenshot of the message received from the social network (ie, “content removed for nudity or sexual acts”), commenting it like this: “Just for one nipple? You’re not ready for the rest.”
