Huawei Band 6, the proof

by admin

It only takes a few seconds, and the new Huawei Band 6 returns a more than satisfactory measurement of the percentage of oxygen in the blood. And even if the new wearable it is not a medical facility, information always brings some relief: at the time of the pandemic, everything we call “quantified-self”, or the measurement of one’s vital parameters, physical activities and habits to get to know each other better (and eventually try to improve) has now taken on a new meaning, also becoming an alarm system in defense of health.

Number of steps taken, stairs climbed, average and current heart rate, calories burned, sleep quality; yet: stress report daily, menstrual cycle monitoring, 96 training modes and even constant monitoring of the SpO2 blood saturation (again, only indicative but always useful). The Huawei Band 6 does its duty by measuring various parameters and activities and also stands out both for the price (just 59 euros) and for the screen, shape and characteristics unusual for this range of products.

How is the Huawei Band 6 made
We are talking about an excellent 1.47-inch Amoled FullView display, with a resolution of 194×368 pixels and a density of 282 Ppi; unpublished in format and size, it is 148% larger than the previous model, highlighting a 64% higher screen-to-body ratio, and can be customized with a wide range of free wallpapers suitable for every use and aesthetic taste. Here we must recognize the intuition of the Huawei designers who, having to choose how to expand the visible area on the display of their fitness tracker, have opted for a format that reminiscent of some vintage and high-end watches. And they opted for a single function key, keeping the lines simple and clean.

In everyday use, the screen is very responsive to the touch and therefore easy to use: initially it takes a few moments to understand where the functions are and how to reach them, after which the use takes place in a linear way. Even in full sunlight, images and characters are clearly visible and, given the average length of a message sent via SMS or on the main messaging systems, it is often possible to read an entire content without having to scroll with your finger or look at the phone.

At night, better be careful: if the intention is to sleep while wearing the Band 6 to monitor sleep, the pre-set brightness level must be checked, because if it is equal to 5 (the maximum) it is able to light up the bedroom if it is reactivated because it perceives movement.

What we liked about the Huawei Band 6
Well-made, especially for being an entry-level product, the Huawei Band 6 stands out for its care in the realization and the choice of quality materials, which together and in everyday use convey an idea of robustness despite the weight of just 18 grams.

The long-lasting battery, with its two weeks of declared autonomy (9-10 days with intensive use, for example in training), makes it the ideal partner also for the amateur who wants to monitor their sports activities. Among those measurable, there is a bit of everything: from the obvious running to cycling, from jumping rope to 96 training modes adjustable with a precision in line with other products in the same price range, even using the GPS of the smartphone to which the Band 6 is associated for outdoor activities.

All that is recorded thanks to the technology Huawei TruSeen 4.0 can be managed through the excellent Huawei Health app (available for Android and iOS), which allows you to view each activity accompanied by information and statistics also made with the help of the TruSport algorithm, able to provide evaluations and suggestions on how to improve the performances.
