Albenga. A story that it could have turned into tragedy but what with the emergency response it had its happy ending. It all started last Wednesday, around 2.30pm, when in the changing rooms of a gym in Albenga was found lying on the floor a man, passed out.
Immediate call to 112 he arranged the intervention of an ambulance from the Albenga White Cross. After a few minutes Alessia and Riccardo arrived on the spot, the two soldiers who, as soon as they saw the 68-year-old on the ground, understand that they were facing a cardiac arrest.
At this point, the two rescuers they begin to practice heart massage asking for the support of the automedica with the 118 medical staff conditions of man appear immediately very serious: still not responding to heart massage, thus the decision to use two shocks of the defibrillator.
Upon arrival of the Sierra 2, the medical staff continue heart massage, discharges three times with the defibrillator and administers the appropriate drugs. It will only be at that point that hope becomes more concrete: after the third discharge the man begins to recover and to breathe independently. To the relief of all present, the 68-year-old survived, but as soon as it was possible he was loaded into the ambulance and transported to the Santa Corona in Pietra Ligure for all the necessary investigations. However, he is out of danger of life.
