The daily figure is 105 new diagnoses in the region, of which 43 in the Lecce area.

The pressure on the hospital system, on the other hand, continues to grow at a more or less constant rate: according to the regional epidemiological bulletin, there are 24 patients in the intensive care wards (a new entry in the last 24 hours), while 251 are those in the medical area . Two weeks ago (August 16) there were 136. The percentage of occupancy of beds on the total available is 5 percent in the critical area and 9 in the ordinary wards (the thresholds considered critical are 10 for the first and 15 for the second).

Three deaths were recorded (12 in the last seven days). The number of cases currently positive in Puglia is 4,701.

Vaccination campaign update.
