John Hanke believes that few games can reach three generations of players like “Pokémon GO”, spanning players of all ages and genders. Optimistic about a healthier “real metaverse”
Looking to the future, Niantic has invested in the AR field very early. Even in 2021, John Hanke personally tweeted that he was developing AR glasses. He also shared his views on the metaverse and AR today.
John Hanke is optimistic about the “real metaverse” rather than the traditionally defined “metaverse”. When many people mention the metaverse, they think of hacking tasks, physically connecting to computers, and staying in a virtual world for a long time. John Hanke said that “this is too unhealthy.” “Real Metaverse” is to encourage everyone to go out and have fun and connect.
