The videos showing the Taliban have gone viral in these hours at the bumper car in Kabul or in the tool room of the presidential palace while they clumsily try to do physical activity. The same men who have just conquered Afghanistan and proclaimed the Islamic Emirate appear smiling more than ever on the collision cars, amidst risky maneuvers and rear-end collisions, and on carousel horses, the same places where the Afghan children used to go. And so while on the one hand the fun and joy of the Taliban prevail, on the other we are witnessing the desperation of a people who are only trying to escape.

Incredulous in front of these images also the number two of the Brothers of Italy Guido Crosetto, who on Twitter shared the video in which Koranic students dabble in the former president’s gym Ashraf Ghani, now fled for hours, and wrote: “An invincible army”. A clearly ironic comment, if you look carefully at the video: the Taliban are trying tools never seen before, such as the one for the lats or the elliptical bike. Some even pedal in reverse. All while shooting with cell phones.
Comments from Twitter users highlight a certain despondency. Someone writes: “Thinking that NATO has run away from them shows how much money we throw away every year”. Someone else instead: “More and more humiliating and dishonorable”.
