iFixit analysis pointed out that the main reason why the iPhone 13 Pro’s body weight will increase slightly by 16 grams compared to the previous generation is that it is equipped with an L-shaped battery module with an increased capacity, with a power of 11.97Wh (the previous generation iPhone 12 Pro was It is a long battery with a power of 10.78Wh). However, this year’s iPhone 13 Pro can pack a larger-capacity integrated L-shaped battery module while maintaining the same size as the previous generation. This is thanks to Apple’s advanced chip manufacturing process, which is more streamlined. Thanks to the modular parts and the new internal structure design of the fuselage, the internal space can be used more flexibly to properly plan the layout of cables and components. In contrast, self-maintenance is more difficult than previous generations.
In particular, after a complete disassembly, iFixit rarely scored 5 points for the iPhone 13 Pro this year in terms of repair difficulty (a total of 10 points, the lower the score, the more difficult it is to repair by yourself). As for why the difficulty of self-repair has become higher than that of previous generations after starting the iPhone 13 Pro, iFixit also provides answers. The two main points are summarized as follows:
