Apple’s new generation of iPad Pro has laptop-grade 8/16 GB memory, but some developers say that due to the limitations of the iPadOS system, it is unable to exert its true strength. Foreign media “AppleInsider” reported that Apple seems to intend to loosen restrictions and let the iPad Pro fully fire.

In the latest iOS and iPadOS 15 test versions, through a new setting method, developers can request to use more RAM capacity without being restricted by the system presets, ensuring the smooth operation of the App. In the document, Apple did not explain how much RAM is provided. At the same time, the note stated that this function will not be executed on every iPad and iPhone, or it will be related to the RAM capacity of the actual device.

As the M1 chip already has laptop-level performance, by obtaining RAM usage rights, developers can design apps that better meet the needs of iPad professional users, such as professional editing, editing, or programming software.

The current M1 version of the iPad Pro can carry up to 16GB of memory, but Apple’s iPadOS is limited, and a single App can only use up to 5GB. A few days ago, the Artstudio Pro developers publicly stated in May that if they try to use more RAM space, it will cause the App to crash.
