Apple announced that from 2022, people “will feel it able to proceed independently to repair ”of their devices they will be able to fix them themselves.
The company will provide the original parts and tools necessary for repair and will allow you to download manuals on service procedures. The new initiative is called, without too much imagination, the Self-Service Repair Program: it will initially be available in the US and will only concern the iPhone 12 and 13; in the course of 2022, Apple plans to extend the program to other markets and other products, starting with Macs with M1 chips.
