Windows 11 annual update 22H2 has been officially announced, and the official version number of RTM has been finalized as Build 22621. Currently, the ISO image is available for Insider members to download.
This morning, Microsoft pushed 22H2 (Build 22621) to Insider members of the Release Preview channel. Unless there is a major error, it will soon reach the official version channel, which is ordinary non-member users.
For genuine users, the security update support for the first official version of Win11 (Build 22000) is only supported until October 2023. Therefore, if there is no special reason, it is recommended to iterate 22H2 as soon as possible after the Update is turned on.
However, Microsoft emphasized that the 22H2 update needs to meet the minimum hardware requirements of Win11, otherwise it cannot be upgraded. This means that those old computers that used PE or tools to bypass TPM 2.0 and CPU limitations may have to use the clean installation method again.
It is generally believed that the official release of 22H2 will be released in September or October. Unfortunately, there is no news or action about Win10 22H2 so far, and Microsoft really doesn’t care at all.
