The World Association for Sexual Health promotes recognition of sexual health as a key element for global well-being and development

The World Association for Sexual Health recently released a document titled “Sexual Health for the Millennium”, which highlights the importance of recognizing sexual health as a crucial element for overall health, global well-being, and socioeconomic development. The document asserts that sexual rights are based on universal human rights already established in various international documents, national constitutions, laws, human rights standards, and scientific knowledge relating to human sexuality and sexual health.

This groundbreaking discussion took place at Cosmodonna, an experiential fair dedicated to the female universe, which concluded on April 22 at the Brixia Forum in Brescia. Lucia Golden Pradelli, an educator and expert in sexual education, emphasized the importance of providing individuals with the tools to understand and satisfy their sexual desires through a conscious approach.

Pregnancy and its effects on women’s bodies were also a key topic of discussion at the event. Elisa Rancati, a physiotherapist specializing in pelvic floor rehabilitation and sexual consultancy, highlighted the importance of postpartum intimate health and the rehabilitation of the pelvic floor. She emphasized the benefits of using sex toys to help women prepare their bodies for the physical and sexual changes that come with pregnancy.

Menopause was another phase of life addressed at the event, with Sabina Pelizzari, a physiotherapist specializing in pelvic floor rehabilitation, stressing the importance of a gynecological evaluation during this transitional period. She also recommended sex toys as valuable tools for both pleasure and rehabilitation, citing their ability to relax muscles and enhance sensitivity.
