Sexual violence on 14-year-old student: judo master arrested
The man is 75 years old and has been placed under house arrest after investigations conducted by the Flying Squad which have ascertained numerous episodes. Appeal to other gym-goers: “Come forward if you have been harassed”
More and more explicit advances, increasingly pushed approaches to the last particularly strong that convinced the victim, a 14-year-old girl, to talk about it to her mother who immediately denounced her judo teacher, 75, owner of the Kenshiro Abbe gym, in via Battisti in Prato. The elderly man was arrested by the police and placed under house arrest by the judge of preliminary investigations in his home in Vernio. The accusation, made by the substitute Valentina Cosci, owner of the investigation, is aggravated sexual violence on a minor.
The investigations began last January when the story of the fourteen year old arrived on the desk of the manager of the Mobile, Alessandro Gallo, and of the inspector Virginia De Nanni, of the team for crimes against minors. Already the very first elements collected against the martial arts instructor immediately provided the investigators with a precise circumstantial picture which, over time, was enriched by the outcome of other investigations.
Reportedly, the scene of increasingly brazen approaches was the gym and in particular the massage room where the girl was called before or after workouts with the excuse of manipulations to warm up the muscles or relieve their strain. Groping, touching, caressing on the private parts, the attempt of kisses pushed up to the last episode that the girl was unable to tolerate by that man who she considered a pillar of her life, ‘the most important figure after that of her mother ”. An assiduous relationship between the judo master and the student who for years had been attending the gym to devote herself to her favorite discipline. Years during which the body of the very young girl changed to become that of a woman. A change that did not go unnoticed by the 75-year-old who, according to the reconstruction of the investigators, in the last twenty years would have approached other students, giving them attention outside the sports field.
“If other women or girls believe they have been subjected to sexual harassment – the appeal of the head of Mobile – come forward, come and report”.
For a few weeks the seventy-five-year-old showed up in the gym only because he did not hold more lessons after the suspension provision notified by the Federation informed of the complaint against his cardholder.
The 75-year-old is defended by the lawyers Taiti and Tresca, while the young woman’s family is assisted by the lawyer Roberta Roviello.
