Logitech and Razer. The webcam now has the “disease” effect

by admin

The most curious effect is the “disease”, which, if selected, makes us very pale. At Logitech, where they made the Brio Business Ultra Hd Pro webcam, we can see that they wanted to meet one of the possible needs of those who work remotely: to simulate a malaise at the umpteenth video meeting. And if you want to exaggerate, there is even the “zombie” choice.

Beyond the effects of the Logitech software for its webcams, Brio is still a fairly sophisticated device, relatively compact, with flawless autofocus and a glass lens that reaches a resolution of 4k, or ultra hd if you prefer. It has a built-in stereo microphone of a good standard and allows you to intervene, among other things, on the width of the field of view, white balance, saturation, brightness, contrast, sharpness. It then has the HDR to increase the richness of colors and the peaks of brightness. In short, it is overabundant for those who only have to use Skype, Zooom or Teams from time to time, but reliable and above all flexible, since nowadays everyone uses webcams to study, work or record videos for YouTube or Twitch. But it costs a lot: 250 euros.

Definitely cheaper, and even less technically refined, is the Kiyo from Razer. The model is from a few years ago, but has remained in production also thanks to the great demand for similar devices due to the pandemic. Full hd, it reaches 30 frames per second and has a light ring that allows it to be used even in the absence of light sources. The autofocus does not come close to the precision of the Brio, but the Razer software to manage it, as usual a bit intrusive, offers several options and parameters. For about 110 euros it does its duty and online it is even cheaper.
