The rooms dedicated to the “Group Medicine” project in via San Francesco
The service should have started in June, the network installed only yesterday
The absence of an Internet connection has caused the opening of the single clinic in Maleo to be postponed in the spaces of Via San Francesco. In fact, the “group medicine” practice should have opened between the end of May and the beginning of June, but, without a network, it was impossible for white coats to guarantee all services, by connecting to the Ats portal, and to share patient data between a doctor and the other. Thus the project of the single outpatient clinic remained at the “stake”. The turning point, however, came just yesterday with the sending of the technician and the installation of the line: the innovative project of “Group medicine” will therefore finally be able to start, in the next few days, in all serenity. In this period, however, the citizens did not suffer from inefficiencies: the population in charge of each individual doctor continued to go to their respective clinics.
In fact, in Maleo in the municipal spaces of via San Francesco, 4 general practitioners have chosen to work together, in rotation, 6 hours a day for 5 days a week with active visits from Monday to Friday, from 10 to 13 and from 15 at 18, and secretarial activities active during the week from 8 to 12 and from 15 to 17 thanks to two administrative figures. The project, called “Group Medicine”, involves doctors Angela Alberini of Maleo, Pietro Belloni of Corno Giovine, Dario Caracci of Castelgerundo and Giuseppe Mancini of Codogno who, while keeping their clinics active in the individual territories, have chosen to team up , in synergy with Ats and the Municipality. The plan provides that patients always refer to their family doctor, but in case of need (an urgent visit, a bureaucratic fulfillment) the individual patient can also contact one of the other doctors who at that moment is on duty at the clinic unique. In fact, doctors share data online, so none of their patients is a “perfect stranger” from a clinical point of view.
This project guarantees a real response to people’s needs and represents an example of concrete territorial medicine, the result of the will above all of the doctors (with Ats) and of the Municipality which has also made the premises available, renovating them.
